Concert review of Ambrosia's concert at The Flamingo Casino

in Kansas City, MO  on May  14 & 15, 1999 by Mary Wellanch

The evening starts like this; My hearts pounding, my hands clammy.
My goodness, Ambrosia in town and I'm going to see them live!
Here I come Flamingo Hilton Casino!Never been there but I was on
my way.

Well, Sure! I listened to Ambrosia Anthology all the way to the casino,
loving every minute of it! So get I there walk in and its the strangest stage
ever seen (sorry fans no cameras in the casino) boy are there some
great moments!

They (Ambrosia) were here two nights and played twice each
night at 7:00 & 9:00 p.m. Don't know about everyone else,
but I was going to get the best view. Just so happens the sound & light people were the friendliest I'd ever met so they escorted me to the backstage. Can't give you any perspective from the audiences view because I watched both performances Friday night from there the back side of the stage.

It was Awsome I should add! Burleigh's drums were felt from within the whole night and Chris, well lets just say he has music shooting from his fingers as if he was a magician of some sort! My gosh he can play! I was so wrapped up in listening & watching, I never got the songs written down. Sorry guys I was enjoying my self to the fullest! No time to stop and write.

Saturday night was even more exciting!! The guys (Ambrosia)were just
having fun.The crowd loved them! I did get an audience view. I stayed my distance and loved it! So many fans from all ages were present,
it was great.

Some danced to all songs & couples of course, got up and danced
to You're the only woman & How much I feel. How can anyone just sit while
that voice that only dreams are made of sings anything is a question to me.

That is a wonderful creation that DAVID PACK! The crowd participated in a few songs not to mention when Joe Puerta asked if any of us had ever been on
the Jerry Springer show and if so this song was for us.
Then, they sang Freak Show!!

We went wild with laughter because you know, here in Missouri there HAD to be one out of the bunch on that show, not to mention a few times I was told!

After each performance the Guys would sign autographs. They were
the nicest Gentleman I've ever met. They had time for everyone and
there were a bunch of us fans!

Well to conclude my view, I've got to say any time, any day AMBROSIA is
the best of the best!!

Thanks guys for the greatest two nights of my life!!
