Ambrosia plays Nashville

Wild Horse Saloon -TNN Taping!
Nashville, TN
May 24, 2000

By Mike Duncan, Roving Reporter for Traveller's Danse, Atlanta Bureau.

May 24, 2000

I raced from Atlanta to catch Ambrosia at the Wild Horse Saloon in historic
downtown Nashville (it was "Somewhere I've Never Traveled" before).  The band
was there to tape a show to be aired on August 24th, for TNN.  The venue seats
3,000 people but it seemed much cozier due to two levels of balconies above
the main floor.  They had a 2400 sq. ft. dance floor nestled in the dining
area that thankfully was converted to table seating for the stage.  Other
notable observations included inverted life size horses running across the
ceiling behind the light carousel overhead.  A perfect venue for a song like,
"Cowboy Star".  The acoustics were great!

Ambrosia was headlining a Classic Rock Revival show that is scheduled to air
on TNN, August 24, 2000.  The date was announced before the show by Margaret
Como from High Five Productions, who produced the show for TNN.  Also on the
bill were Christopher Cross and Steven Bishop.

Ambrosia played the following songs; "You're the Only Woman", "How Much I
feel", "You're the Biggest Part of Me", and "Holdin' On To Yesterday".  Even
though the band played just four songs it was amazing how quickly they were
able to whip the near capacity crowd in to a frenzy, complete with table
dancing!  The band sounded great, with superb musicianship and clean vocal
harmonies, and they gave us a great show as evidenced by Dave's broken
E-string (or was that his G-string)? and a broken key on Chris' "Goff" organ.

Under the guise of roving reporter for Traveller's Danse, I got a chance to
talk to Dave and Burleigh, and they obliged us with pictures and more
information about the Rarities CD and additional tour stops.  It was "Nice,
Nice, Very Nice" of them to do that for us!  Thanks!  See Pictures attached.

Burleigh reported that the Rarities CD will include a cover of "Magical
Mystery Tour," from the movie soundtrack and several previously unreleased
songs from the past!

Rick Rees, the band's Agent and Road Manager, replied when asked that
Ambrosia would probably do a show in Atlanta this fall?  I'll be there!

Remember to set your VCR's to get some rare video footage of Ambrosia on TNN,
August 24th!  Thanks also to Pat Boyette for the information on the show and
also to Nicole, Lori and Sheryl (the Minnesota gang) for sharing a table up
front with me!  And so it goes!
